Registrar of Examinations – Alan Kirby

The Registrar of Examinations is the only person at Greene’s who can register you for a public examination.  Alan has been responsible for the administration of public examinations since 2005 and every year from his office in 97a, St. Aldate’s Street he deals with many hundreds of examination candidates, whether internal or private (external).

Alan graduated from Balliol College, Oxford, having read PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) and in addition to his M.A., from Oxford he holds a Maîtrise from the Sorbonne in Paris and a Ph.D. (on European travel in 20th century British fiction) from the University of Exeter.

Alan has lectured in English universities and Slovakia and given academic conference papers in Britain, Ireland and Spain.  He has been head of a department in a sixth-form and continues to publish articles on contemporary culture in academic journals.  His book Digimodernism was released by Continuum in 2009.
