Entrance Tests

Greene’s has been preparing students for a range of both school and university entrance tests for many years.

School entrance tests can be administered as part of a formal application process such as for 11+ or Common Entrance where test papers are externally set but internally marked; or where papers are both internally set and marked – often for sixth form entry.  Our tutors are able to provide valuable assistance with all these types of test and also to prepare you for interview.

At university level, whilst entrance tests for certain subjects, such as Law and Medicine, have been required for some time, entrance tests for other subjects are now becoming more common.  These tests focus on reasoning skills rather than knowledge and are designed to assess your potential and aptitude for the course you are applying for.

Common UK university entrance tests where we can help you include:

BMAT (BioMedical Admissions Test) – Medicine and Dentistry

CATS (Classics Admissions Tests) – Oxford

ELAT (English Literature Admissions Test) – Oxford

GAMSAT (Graduate Medical School Admissions Test)

HAT (History Aptitude Test) – Oxford

LNAT (National Admissions test for Law)

MAT (Mathematics Aptitude Test) – Oxford

MML (Modern and Medieval Languages Test) – Cambridge

MLLAT (Modern Languages and Linguistics Aptitude Tests) – Oxford

PAT (Physics Aptitude Test) – Oxford

STEP (Sixth Term Examination Paper) – Mathematics at Cambridge and Warwick

TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment) – Cambridge, Oxford and UCL

UKCAT (UK Clinical Aptitude Test) – Medicine and Dentistry

If you are thinking of applying to a university in the U.S. we can help you with preparation for the U.S. SAT entrance tests, required by almost all universities.
