Tutors and Reports

Based in Oxford, we draw on tutors whose academic expertise derives largely from the University. Many have taught with great distinction for us for a number of years. Others, recently graduated or engaged in long-term research, are called upon when there are students studying in their own specialist fields.

Whatever their background, our tutors combine the highest educational standards with an ability to communicate knowledge, a passion for their subject and an exceptional mastery of examination techniques.

Assessment & Reports

All students, whether on our Academic Support Programme or receiving tuition only, receive a short online report after every tutorial. All students, parents and clients have access to these reports and so progress can be regularly monitored. Tutors will comment on what was covered during the tutorial and whether the tutor’s expectations were met in regards to the effort and the achievement of the student, for both the homework set and the tutorial itself (grades are given to reflect these). Tutors will also record the homework required for the next tutorial.

We believe regular testing is important and tutors give informal timed essays and test examination papers at suitable times as part of the tutorial process, especially in the weeks leading up to public examinations.

If you are a student on our Academic Support Programme, you will additionally receive two formal trial examinations. These will be marked by a third party (i.e. an experienced marker who is not your tutor) who will provide an assessment report on your examination.

You will also see your Personal Tutor regularly so your tutor reports, test and examination results, can be discussed. Your Personal Tutor is a highly experienced academic who is responsible for the supervision of your studies. He or she will establish an initial programme of study with you and will continue to advise you so you will always have the benefit of a realistic assessment of your progress.

If you have chosen the tuition only option you can still have access to a variety of these services. Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss what additional help you might require. Please also see our Fees and Services.
