Step-by-step guide to results day
8.00 a.m – UCAS Track goes live. You will be able to see your university confirmation. Remember that your marks will not appear on UCAS. You will need to get these from your exam centre.
Have you met your grades? UCAS Track will say you have been accepted into either your firm or insurance choice university and you will be able to view your confirmation letter.
Have you just missed your grades? Call your university since they may still accept you. They may even offer you an alternative course which you will need to accept or decline using UCAS Track. If not, find out if you are eligible for Clearing on Track.
Have you done better than expected? If so, you can apply through Adjustment, which will allow you to ‘upgrade’ to a better university or course without missing out on your current offer.
Do you want to decline the place you have been offered? You will have to call the university. This can take up to ten days and there is no going back.
Do you want to defer your offer until next year? Again, you will have to call the university and ask whether this is possible. Phone the admissions office to talk it through, or consult your college for advice. They will only be too happy to help!
