Position description:

The Deputy Principal is accountable for the academic progress and welfare of students.  The Deputy Principal will provide leadership for academic progression, academic supervision and student welfare.  This includes safeguarding: the Deputy Principal is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for safeguarding and child protection. The Deputy Principal will ensure all students thrive, are engaged in their learning and develop, both academically and personally.

This is both a management and an academic role.  The role requires strong academic guidance and a passion for all aspects of student personal development.

The Deputy Principal plays a major role in the development of procedures, policies and practices connected with student academic progress and welfare.
