Supplementary tuition

Looking for ongoing support from a Greene's tutor?

On-going supplementary tuition courses consist of regular – often weekly – tutorials over a set period of time – such as a school term or over the academic year.  There are discounted fee packages available if you are looking to pre-book a number of hours of supplementary tuition over the academic year.  These are combined with discounted trial exam fees.  Trial exams – taken formerly – are possibly the best way of making sure you are on track for your target grade.

Courses of supplementary tuition are most suitable if you are looking for a regular programme of tuition to support your studies – such as a particular subject at school or a course you might be studying by yourself with a distance learning or other academic institution.

If you opt for supplementary tuition, and whether you choose face-to-face or online tutorials – or even a mixture – you can enrol at Greene’s for regular, weekly tutorials over several months to support and consolidate what you are doing in your full-time courses.

To get the best out of your tutor and your tutorial be well prepared.  Spend time thinking about what you want to cover with your tutor and send any completed homework to your tutor beforehand.  The tutorial method of learning works best when the learning and understanding of topics is consolidated by probing discussion with your tutor.  The more prepared you are the more you will get out of your tutorial.

Supplementary tuition in groups

If you are interested in a course of regular supplementary tuition it may be possible – and more cost effective – for you to join one of our existing small group tutorials which are run throughout the year in most core A level subjects.  Our groups generally consist of around three or four students but you must be able to join at the beginning of the academic year.

For most core A level subjects we run group sessions three times per week at our premises in central Oxford.  Each session is 45 minutes long and is timetabled to take place during the working day three times per week.  These group tutorials can be a good option if you are studying by yourself.  Joining an existing group can be quite motivating  and can help ensure that you stay on track with your studies.  Combining group tuition with some trial exams at Greene’s can significantly help you achieve your academic goals.

If you are interested in the possibility of joining one of our groups please contact us to discuss the options available.
