Zoë joined Greene’s Tutorial College, in Oxford, as Deputy College Principal, after a successful career working for a large Academy Trust in Oxfordshire. As part of a school improvement team, Zoë’s role for the Trust was developing teaching and learning in two Oxfordshire schools, as well as being practically engaged as a staff mentor and teacher – her own lessons consistently being graded by Ofsted as outstanding.
Zoë was appointed Principal of Greene’s in early 2019, and is thus one of its senior management team. She has overall responsibility for the full-time students and, with the Director of Studies, helps students to organise their academic programmes at Greene’s, so they can fully benefit from the tutorial method. An integral part of the programme for many students is applications for university entrance, study skills and the learning of English as a Foreign Language, and Zoë co-ordinates and oversees the advice given to students in all these various areas.
Zoë’s academic interests lie in the arts and in particular the visual arts. Having completed a B.A. in History of Art, Zoë was rated as ‘outstanding’ in her Postgraduate Certificate of Education; following this, she also achieved a grade 2 in the Royal National Institute for the Blind braille examination. Prior to completing her teaching qualification, Zoë worked in fundraising development and alumni relations for Oriel College, University of Oxford.
Zoë’s wide understanding and experience of leadership roles in education across a wide range of abilities give her a unique understanding of the demands of a tutorial college. As a previous executive member of school leadership teams and having worked closely with school leaders to provide creative approaches to raising standards and achievement, Zoë brings the administrative drive and a passion for education required in a college such as Greene’s offering flexibility and choice.back to: Staff
